Abstract
The article traces the creative path of an outstanding master – the legendary actor of the Evgeny Vakhtangov Theater, Vasily Semenovich Lanovoy. The artist’s landmark roles in performances based on plays by A. Zheri, K. Gozzi, A.N. Arbuzov, M. Krlezhi, E.-E. Schmitt, and others, performances on the literary stage, participation in reading programs and concerts, and the leadership of the Department of Stage Speech at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute introduce to the reader an actor who embodied the artistic method of E.B. Vakhtangov in his work.
