Five pounds of love
Abstract
The author analyzes the play The Lanins’ Estate by Boris Zaitsev, staged by Evgeny Vakhtangov at the Drama Studio and shown on March 26, 1914, probes the reasons for the failure of the first performance by the studio members, recreates the history of the production through the memories and notes of the participants and eyewitnesses of the premiere.
